Community Employment
Supported Employment

•	Available to individuals who have an interest in working in the community rather than in a sheltered workshop.
•	Works through agency partnerships, to develop a variety of services and supports so individuals may achieve their desired vocational goals.
•	Coordinates with a planning team to access needs, develop goals, and structure supports.
•	Employment Specialists use the planning team's recommendations to develop a job that best suits the individual's goals.
•	Provides on the job training and coaching to assure success of the individual. The job coach's responsibilities include the implementation of support strategies, direct instruction of job tasks and related behavioral skills, developing friendships in the work environment and documenting the individual's progress.
•	Supported Employment also provides follow-along services to ensure the long term success of the indivudual.

Employment Services Program

The Employment Services Program assists local businesses in recuiting and hiring dependable entry level employees by providing the following services:

•	Wage Reimbursement All wages are reimbursed and a matching employer incentive is paid to the employer during a four week work evaluation.
	Example: Wages reimbursed.....$7.00 per hour Employer incentive....$7.00 per hour Paid to employer.....$14.00 per hour
•	Tax Credit Employers may claim a tax credit of 40% of the first year wages up to $6,000 for new employees who work at least 400 hours, for a maximum of $2,400 per employee.
•	On-Site Training Service An employment consultant will complete a job analysis and train the employee on site to meet the quality/production standards of the job. The consultant will gradually phase-out of direct supervision as the employee demonstrates the abiltiy to complete the assigned job duties to the employer's satisfaction.
•	Extended Support Services After the consultant has phased out of direct supervision they will continue to maintain contact with the employer and employee to provide any supportive service required to assure the employee continues to meet the expectations of the employer.
